Graphene winding number
http://phyx.readthedocs.io/en/latest/TI/Lecture%20notes/3.html WebAug 1, 2024 · In Sec. III, we use the SSH model and the corresponding Chern insulator to establish a relation between the 2D Chern number and the difference of the 1D winding numbers at p 2 = 0 and p 2 = π. We then demonstrate that this relation also hold for the extended SSH models. We expect similar identity would also exist in higher dimensions.

WebJun 8, 2024 · The computation of the band structure of Graphene basically leads to the diagonalization of the following Hamiltonian: where ϵ ( k →) = ∑ i = 1 3 e i k → ⋅ δ → i. … WebJul 1, 2024 · Choosing m > 0 and ϕ 1 such that m cos ϕ 1 > 0 the orientation of that movement will be right-handed in 3D, which corresponds to a winding number 1. But if m < 0 then the movement will be left-handed in 3D (as can be checked by using one's own hands as templates!), and the corresponding winding number will be −1.
WebBecause vacuum is topologically trivial with zero mirror winding number, we expect the flat-band edge mode associated with the the nonzero total winding number 16,17,29 for the ribbon geometry ... WebJul 16, 2024 · The topological index is given as the winding number (a Z number) of the Wilson loop in the moiré Brillouin zone. Furthermore, we also claim that, when the gapped bands are allowed to couple with higher-energy bands, the Z index collapses to a stable Z 2 index. The approximate, emergent particle-hole symmetry is essential to the topology of ...
